friend of mine had a 93 prelude.. bought with 147k on it.. finally blew the motor at 177k.. this is only because he raced daily, and took it up to 130mph +...

sister had an 88 civic. bought with 100k on it... sold it with 160k.. ran fine when it was sold..

friend had 91 civic.. bought with 210k on it.. sold it with 240k on it. now he just bought a 95 civic with 140k on it.. expects at least 200k out of it...

very reliable imo.. but like every other car, need new parts every once in a while... if you just change the oil, they won't ever die.

and the civic that was sold with 240k on it.. is now a daily commuter for a friend.. and its still running fine.

I suppose it depends how it was driven.

My friends Accord was bought at like 145k with original clutch and engine and it was running great. He's nearing 200k now, autocrossed it for one season for kicks, and the clutch and engine are still great...just replaced some suspension junk that went due to the hard driving and the usual tuneup...

ok.. I can understand having a honda as a dd, but trying to turn a FWD relyable econobox into a RWD high performance sports car probibly is not gonna work. I too have a DD, but my protege gets just as good MPG, has more HP, Turns better, and is reliable. It also happens to be almost bone stock, except the luke warm air kit, and stock mazdaspeed spoiler (u all know how bad mazda airboxes are compaired to piping, and my tail was sliding out on some fun turns on the way to work.) Also my protege was $5000 cheaper. that's more money for my 7's
