|
hahaha what a waste of time, its still ugly as sin
|
another fine example of a tasteless person with too much money and a crappy platform.
|
I really like it, except for the looks. I would love it it it still looked like a garden-variety dx sedan.. Imagine the super-sleeper abiltywith some steelies....hahaha
|
I dont see why everyone is bashing him and calling him "tasteless" just because he went outside the box and took a usually gay car and made it pretty cool?? I mean if ther is a civic out there that is done right, this is the one. I think you guys are the tasteless ones for seeing it as just another gay civic instead of what it really is.....must suck being ignorant and having closed minds https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png
Cool car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |

pretty cool, hideous car, but at least someone made it function correctly.
|
That car looks stupid as ****. They couldn't decide between ricer and racer so they made raicer. If it looked stock, it'd be a bad ass ride.
|
that's one of the few honda's i would actuly be willing to drive anymore.. even tho it looks pretty ricey, i think its pretty cool.. i mean come on, that's a V-6 Turbo, that's RWD in a honda, your not gonna see that very often if at all

Cool car https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png No, I'm not closed minded, I just know an ugly car when I see one. And that, my friend, is one. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif Opinions are like assholes, got it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif I mean, the saying, not an *******... Regardless of giving credit where credit is due, I still have every right to think/say that car is not of my tastes and damn ugly and a waste of time. :P https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png |
civics are great cars if you want reliability, and you don't want to spend a lot of $$$
BUT i think bottom line is.. ITS A CIVIC... THEY WANT TO MUCH MONEY... THE CAR IS HIGH MILEAGE AND THEY WANT 22k STARTING BID... THE CAR WAS NEVER THAT MUCH BRAND NEW...AND ITS A CIVIC !! NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO TO IT, IT WILL ALWAYS BE LAUGHED AT BECAUSE IT IS A CIVIC AND IT WILL ALWAYS BE A RICER...... ALWAYS...... AND YOU SHOULD BE SHOT FOR SPENDING THAT MUCH $$$$$$ ON IT. |

|
the civic is more reliable... duh ! and you can shift mad qwik in dat biatch
|
Good idea with the RWD, bad idea with the guapo paint job. Looks like it rolled out of some backwards ass paint shop down in Miami. For the record tho Honda's dont suck, its the people who drive them that do most of the sucking. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/gotrice.gif

This is true. Honda doesn't suck. Reliable? Heck yea! It's all I've driven as a DD outside of any "Sports" car I've owned!
In a world of "Custom" anything, nothing is all that new or inspiring anymore, I guess. To me anyways. Making a FWD econobox RWD and ugly isn't that impressive. Like others here, I just see that and think "Damn, what kind of 7 that money could have bought!" |
I think I have to agree with the topic title, while the conversion is admirable, the platform to perform the conversion was a poor choice, and yes the paint job is tasteless.
In addition rotary owners are spoiled, specifically the RX-7 platform owners, we have an all around good sports car, what they lack in power stock is hardly an insurmountable obastacle to overcome, so I think our views on other cars are forever jaded, for the hardcore rotary fan anyway. |

Yes my apprentice, what you speak is true, but they aren't just lacking power! They are an unbalanced, un-powerful, wrong-wheeldrive, ugly breed of cars...but Reliable! And great on gas! Heck, that's whats great about them! My point is, there are cars that may not be considered "Sports" cars but at least offer RWD, or more power, or factory sport suspension + strut bars and balance, etc etc. Why give yourself that much of a challenge? The better package comes in a nicer shell anyways! |
i think the "lack of power" was referring to the 7... he does own a vert (albiet a very nice one), then again so do i...

Ahh True. Yer right. As I was saying as well, its not like the majority of honda's are only missing one or 2 elements, they are watered down in every area imaginable...cept for reliability and durability, but that comes without saying... His vert rocks, it tempts me away from the Miata possibility.... |
My family has owned several Hondas and I really don't see their reliability. They break at 100K just like every other car we've owned. That's why I made my dad drive a Protege instead of just getting another Civic. Now he has a nice reliable-ish car that he actually enjoys driving. His first Civic needed pretty much an entire front end at 100K and his second one had tranny problems at 75K. My sister's Prelude had more issues than I'd like to list too.

Perhaps you got the ONE lemon of the 50,000 made that year :P I have two friends with Honda's pushing 200k+, both on original transmissions (original clutch on one!) and running good. They needed a tune-up in the recent past but that go's without saying. All my integra's were owned/driven from 90k-175k range, and the engine operated normally. My friend with a 40k mile Pontiac and the other with a 40k mile Galant is another story, BOTH had problems misfiring even after a good tuneup... |
friend of mine had a 93 prelude.. bought with 147k on it.. finally blew the motor at 177k.. this is only because he raced daily, and took it up to 130mph +...
sister had an 88 civic. bought with 100k on it... sold it with 160k.. ran fine when it was sold.. friend had 91 civic.. bought with 210k on it.. sold it with 240k on it. now he just bought a 95 civic with 140k on it.. expects at least 200k out of it... very reliable imo.. but like every other car, need new parts every once in a while... if you just change the oil, they won't ever die. |
and the civic that was sold with 240k on it.. is now a daily commuter for a friend.. and its still running fine.
|
I suppose it depends how it was driven.
My friends Accord was bought at like 145k with original clutch and engine and it was running great. He's nearing 200k now, autocrossed it for one season for kicks, and the clutch and engine are still great...just replaced some suspension junk that went due to the hard driving and the usual tuneup... |
ok.. I can understand having a honda as a dd, but trying to turn a FWD relyable econobox into a RWD high performance sports car probibly is not gonna work. I too have a DD, but my protege gets just as good MPG, has more HP, Turns better, and is reliable. It also happens to be almost bone stock, except the luke warm air kit, and stock mazdaspeed spoiler (u all know how bad mazda airboxes are compaired to piping, and my tail was sliding out on some fun turns on the way to work.) Also my protege was $5000 cheaper. that's more money for my 7's
