ok my buddy loves hondas,i love my rx-7 ive seen kits that let you bolt in a 350 chevy motor into a rx-7 or a 3rd gen rx-7 motor but does anyone offer a kit that will let you bolt in a honda motor? say from a Si civic, prelude, del sol? its just a thought and i would never let anyone ever do that to my rx-7 but my buddy is wondering if it would be possible,he has a 91 gxl with no tranny or motor and he has the $$$$$ do do it if it has been done, ive seen honda motors put into a eclpe, laser, talon before at NOPI,just wanna know if you can do it to a rx-7?thanks,lol i know im gonna get flamed for this question, lol

Tell, ur buddy, why spend all that $$ to have a measily 160hp from the Si or 200hp from a prelude vtec, why not drop in a friggin 350??? it would be ten times as fast and same amount of $$$. Besides they're all FWD :newlaugh: that would be fun to work w/.

yeah I really don't understand why you'd wanna put in an h22.... doesn't make any sense to me. If he's gonna put a pissed-on engine in there he should definately put an lt1 or an ls1

With a few upgrades a 350 will produce a whole lot of power and handle it quite well. Plus, what I think is the biggest bonus of having one is the huge and cheap aftermarket that exists. But I wouldn't swap in a boinger, I like the rotary engine. It is a little expensive to work on, but thats the price you pay to be cool.

thats like my friend trying to stick a 13B on a 323 body he had laying around. im sure it can be done, but itl cost so much more than what its worth. for what to be on the cover of import tuner.

ohh yeah and about spinning the wrong way, just swap the battery cables.

To answer your question- No, I have never seen anyone put a Honda engine in an RX7. Go to http://www.grannysspeedshop.com

And follow some of the links they provide to other swap sites- But I don't think you'll have very much luck. The tranny problem will be the main problem.

Right now I'm in the middle of swapping in a 302 from a mustang into my 88 GXL . Believe me, tell your friend that this is much more of a practical swap- for the amount of horsepower you will get for such a relatively low initial cost its well worth the time and money. THink about it- you spend about $1500- $2000 and get a 150 HP four cyl that you will have to spend who knows how much for upgrades to get it anywhere around 200-250 Hp when all you have to do is basically drop in a V8 and have the same- no upgrades needed. It will be a 12-13 second car right out of the box
