I've got the Racing Beat full exhaust. It's mild steel. I've had it for 2 years now and one chicago winter. I haven't had any problems what so ever with rust. I think it depends on the quality of the exhaust? I've seen the Midas mufflers go in a year and the racing beat is like butter even after two years.

Oh yeah. and to help you with your problem. WD40 works to get the rust loose but the rust stuff that's in like a yellow and red can works very well. Just spray the bolts necessary to remove it and then come back a half hour later and remove them. It looks prety funked up though. You may have to cut it off. It might be less stress if you go to an exhaust shop and get it done.

I cut the exhaust off my first car and it was not fun. In the tight space under the jacked up car trying to cut the bolts off really chapped my ***, but you live, you learn.

There's not a whole lot wrong with mild steel exhausts, It doesn't get much wetter than Ireland, and when the exhausts go its not from rust, stainless will last longer alright, but then again the price of the stuff negates this advantage. Having said that, I'm using a s/s manifold .
