I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for, I don't know, maybe 4 years now. Anyways, I'd like something not picked out of a book or off the wall, but I don't draw well (or at all). criteria (very loose):

may contain "TORIN" (I think it looks better in all caps)

may contain "Edna"

may contain a rotor, or a wrench, or something car-related, but not the main focus

may contain gaelic or arabic writing

no animals

no tribal, or anything trendy

no faces

preferably no bright colors

but I'm really open to anything that I think looks good

Feel free to suggest what location you think it would look best (arm, chest, back, whatever)

My suggestion:

Go find someone who is 50-60 years old and had tattoos done while they were in their 20's. Ask to see it, Ask if they like it now.

yeah, hence the reason why I have always wanted one but never got one. I'm not going out next week and getting ink done or anything, but I'd just like to see some neat designs.

ok, word of advice...i only have 2 tats....but theyre verry verry visible...dont get anything terribly visible, it WILL hinder you from getting a good corporate job.

also, dont get a tatoo of anything unless its something you know for a fact your going to enjoy or beleive in for the rest of your life.....i have a trinity on my right forearm and the star of davis with a cross on my left forearm, i got it when i was gung ho christian...as of now the lifestyle doesnt lead the tats i have....i kind of feel guilty about that, so just dotn get anything unless its something your going to stand for or like for the rest of your life.

that's why you should either get a rotary or the NoPiston emblem

I have 4 little tattoos. Two on each shoulder. I got them when I was 17 and 18. I am not even in my 50's yet and I regret them. Get a Henna (spelling?) ink tattoo first if you are determined to get one. They only last for 3 or 4 weeks. They are dirt cheap too. You can get them done in touristy places for like 10 bucks. The best part is they are gone in a month

OH SHADDUP. tATS ARE HOT AND I WOULD never pick em out of a line up. Im designing my own tats right now for myself. The only reason i havnt got em yet is because of lack of fund$. Hell yeah ima get a rotary rotor somewhere on my body but i want to intergrate it with my whole scheme. No colors just Black, shades of Black and grey.

Those who regret getting there tattoos im not sorry for ya. WHo knows what state of mind ya were in. YOu really have to know that you want it. I love art, graffit and tatoos so ima make sure i have one that is gonna mean sumthing to me not sumthing out of a book, Thats Whack and everyone that gets tats from a book is wack, unless its letters of a name or sumthing!.

Im for Tats!

Flat Fact: Diamonds after 10 million years or so turns into graphite or better known to be used in Pencils. So ladys a pencil is 4Ever!

I think you might be missing the point. People change in 10 or 20 or 30 years, and the tattoo they thought was "wicked cool" when they got it might not make them feel the same way years later.
