hmm you turn the key and nothing at all happens? had that happen with my durango but for different reasons (bad o2 sensor).

First I'd try disconnecting the negative battery cable, putting the key to "on" for a minute or so then turning it off, reconnecting cable and see what happens. the resets the PCM in the dodge trucks, proly same system for the dodge cars.

If not that then she must've setoff a switch in the computer telling it to not try to startup again which is what happened with my o2 sensor (they told me something about reverse vapor lock too....then i mentioned i was a mechanic, and they reverted back to "the o2 sensor was bad")

turning the key 3 times is only to get the light to flash the trouble codes, any mopar will do that. The only "failsafe"systems I've ever run across will keep the car from starting if there is no oil pressure, not fuel pressure.

And Kevin I hope you were under warranty, there is no car in the world that won't start becouse of a bad O2, they hosed you bad LOL

as far as the dead neon, the only logical thing I can come up with is that the fuel pump shorted out from over working/lack of fuel and burned out a main EGI fuse. just a guess though, that is a weird problem.

well it was under warranty but they tried a ton of excuses on me before they finally gave up on trying to prove i caused something. my trans was bad, for a while, and i didn't care. It was slipping, the bands and clutches were burnt, it was done for, it would miss shifts, force my v8 to go over 5.5k rpms (redlines at 4.8k). but i didn't care it was under warranty and would be fixed.......until the day that i no longer had reverse, manual low/1st, auto 2nd, or auto 3rd. as i was chugging home slowly, (the night of the like 3 foot blizzard mind you) the second the first snowflake fell my engine cutout as if i ran out of gas (no steering, brakes etc) and i rolled into a parking lot and came back two days later and had to dig out the truck.

SOMEHOW my trans caused my rear diff to blow out along with seizing my engine (i had it pretty much redlined in 1st gear all the way home, with it constantly slipping out of gear due to the bands being completely fried...meaning the rpms would shoot up rather high a lot).

So the dealer says that the engine blew because i didn't get a tune-up, which they knew because there was gas in the oil. i suggested that changing piston rings was not part of a tune up and therefore wouldnt prevent gas getting in my oil (which from what i know so far, limited on the engine side of things, would have to be bad for gas to get into the oil).

It was a long schpiel, took 2 weeks before they even started working on the damn thing, and in the end i got a brandy new factory 5.2L, a brandy new trans, and a brandy new rear diff. and for the hell of it i made them replace my rear suspension which was fubar from an accident i was involved in.

i know the trans is $2525 according to AllData, and like a 6 hour job in warranty time. which i figure would work out to about $3000, then i didn't look up the rear and the engine, but i didnt pay for them either, nor the rear suspension. I ONLY paid my $200 deductible and $134 for a new o2 sensor. so i got a new truck for $334, not a bad deal IMO.

believe me the dealer in no way got me

i have a growing hatred for dodge mind you, the new srt-4 is getting rave reviews........until they realize to change the turbo you have to do a LOT as it's "built in" to the engine.

Nice! Dealers have to make money too, but its great to catch them in a lie.
