Hell, I know what you mean. I'd probably a have a whole mess of stripes on my sleeves by now if I had stayed in. But the Career Jammer had other ideas. They wanted me to stay in, with a big ol' bonus and all, but I had to leave Japan. All I asked was that I'd get a guaranteed duty station so I could stay on Oki. They said no and I walked out on them as the were mid sentence. All I wanted was to stay there and not be shipped off to Kansas City. F' them!
Man I know what you mean Jerk Racer! That's how I ended up in Okinawa. I told them that unless I go to Okinawa, I'm NOT re-enlisting. They tried for 9 months to get me to re-enlist and I told them to ****-off. WELL....I got my termination orders and the re-enlistment NCO calls me and says, "I got you Okinawa." ....so I re-enlisted...Best duty station I have had yet, but it's the WORST command. These jackasses can't do **** right.

Phins, If I could have given them my 2 week notice, I would have done it a LONG time ago.

I'll be back to "visit" by the end of this year. I'm still unsure as to what I'm going to do...get out here or get out in the states

Hey jspec, if you have to do what Dragon did, then come over here to Ft. Lewis to out process and crash in my apartment. It might not be the perfect setup, but mi casa su casa if it comes to that. :bigthumg: Hell, you can even borrow my car. Some of the bugs have been worked out of it since Chris drove it so it should be easier to get around in. All I have to suggest to you is if you want to stay there, start planning for it now even it you have to come over here to out process. Get a job lined up as soon as possible.

Thanks for the offer! I'll be sure to take you up on it. I've been looking thru all the job listings lately and have been asking around what's available so I know what's in store for me. It looks like that there's not a lot of jobs here though. Sucks because I REALLY want to stay here, especially since I love the scene and my wifey's Japanese.

Your wife being Japanese allows you to get a visa a japanese drivers lic. and work off base as well... so you need to take some Japanese classes.. It's good to know if your going to live here anyway..
