the only test that gave me a real problem was the Super license last test (the Nurburgring with the Benz E190 Evo II in under 8 minutes), and that's cause I had been playing for 4 hours straight before that...But that ice rally test was a pain also...

I believe it's a hardware slowdown problem. GT4 is pushing the hell out of the PS2 and instead of giving you slower gameplay (think of any old console game where too many things happening will cause everything to slow to a crawl) it actually lowers the strain on the PS2. What you get is a slightly messed up image so that it won't interrupt a race.

another rant. im racing with the nissan motul pitwork z jgtc and if your turning the throttle stays down. i dont know if its like this in all the cars
try it with other cars, get on a turn or on a straight and turn back and forth and let off the throttle and it might not lose speed, i know this car doesnt. its kinda crappy for cornering
