well today i had my muff put on and i told him i whanted 2" pipe ok.... so i come back 1 hour later and he did the hole thing in 1"7/8! i was like i whanted 2", the guy does all my exhaust stuff and this is the first time he did somthing like this! i think in about a week or whenever i get the extra cash i am going to go back and have him put on a 2 1/2". i just whant to be able to have absalutly no back pressure and with 1 7/8 it is not reachable!

ummm.. if you paid for 2" exhaust, then take it back and demand him to replace it with the correct piping at no extra cost. why pay double ? if ur going to bring it back, he is just going to charge you extra for the 2.5" piping.

you're missing the point here, you shouldn't have paid him a dime untill he took the 1 7/8 pipe off and installed the 2 inch like you asked for

2" - 1.875" = 0.125" you're crying over. first of all, if you want no back pressure, you should have gone with 2 1/2". second, i've been dancing, i'm kind of drunk, and you should have still gone with 2 1/2" exhaust piping.

i'm gunna pass out.

If you're running stock port and non-turbo. You don't want any larger than a 2" piping, you need to keep exhaust velocity up to achieve full efficiency. 2 1/2 would actually be worse than 1 7/8. Think of exhaust like water and what happens when it is taken from a smaller pipe and flowed to a larger pipe.

I believe Mazdatrix has some more information concerning this.
