For me the sweet sliced pickles makes or breaks the sandwhich.. It has to have pickles with it.. I never understood the allure of dipping them in Ketchup though.. Such strong condiments have no place in the delicate balance of the calorie laden tastiness of a perfect grilled cheese.. But the pickle just cleanses the palat between bites..

Get two pieces of bread.
Spread butter on the outer side of both pieces.
Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top of the butter.
Throw the 1st piece of bread, parmesan side down on the griddle.
Throw on cheese and whatever else you could want in the sammich.
Put 2nd piece of bread on top of cheese++, parmesan side up.
Flip and done when gold.

So it pretty much follows then, logically, that there needs to be a toilet there too.
