Oh yeah and it's funny that you mention and consider your self a street racer. And even funnier that people actually define identities by such a thing.

There are preps, goths, punks, etc.

And sadly there are people who categorize themselves as "street racers" as if it's something that's cool and something to be proud of. Maybe they should watch tfatf a few more times until they realize what they really are.

and ONE more thing about the 3kgt.

i downshifted.... INTO 4TH, if i was racing i wouldve looked for a more powerful gear, i put 4th down pretty hard and didnt really accelerate super fast, i couldve dropped it to third if i wanted to "race" him the way he was trying to race me.

kevin.
dude! It's okay, just say you were just giving 4rr **** on his thread and be done with it!! It didn't bother me

I refuse to only enjoy the fruits of all my money and labor 35 seconds out of a month. I have my car because I love to drive it, it doesn't mean I have something to prove. I'm going to make some trips to kentucky and I plan on driving my 7, just because I love to drive it. It's a sexy very capable car, that is actually comfortable.

While you guys are sitting at home waxing your cars and talking crap about the stupid street racers I'll be running around town with my windows down and my sunroof back, taking corners faster that I'm alowwed to, and occasionally accelorating hard out of one. And maybe If i find a vert mustang sporting a trophy then I'll give him a rev too. Call me what you want but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying my car.

That's spirited driving. Not street racing, and i'm sure all of us here are guilty of that.

ok so BASICALLY you just described exactly what i do.

what you described is NOT street racing, you simply drived in a spirited manner, which almost everyone does.

also as for me not enjoying my car i've put about 1,500 miles on it in one month, had most of the parts of the engine sitting in my driveway and when im not at one of my 2 jobs or at school im normally working on it or driving it.

I feel ya, you don't want to see my garage right now, it looks like someone drove 3 rx7's into it and blew them up. There are parts EVERYWHERE!! Not to mention that i'm adding a rx7 to my collection tomorrow.

Sometimes I wish I had never drove a fast car, so I wouldn't be addicted. Why can't I be addicted to bird watching or something, that's cheap right??

I know I followed that Ferrari around last week ant honestly I did not harass him I just criused with himand wanted to see if he would "show off" for me so I could suprise him. I never sat at a red light and revved my engine at him or cut him off. I did give a good BOV shifteing to second hoping it might get him to bite at me.

I do not go to every red light looking for a race. Even if I have a vette next to me or something along those lines. I have pulled away from many lights quite mellow with a muscle car next to me. IF HOWEVER they rev at me or I hear them hit it as we roll I am ALWAYS game for a little 0-60 run. I NEVER do it in traffic ONLY if the road out front is clear and safe.

The most dangerous race I was ever in was at the strip. I said it earlier I almost turned my Mustang sideways in 3rd gear. I get better traction on the street in the rain.

So by the definitions of you guys I am not a street racer. I will however drive spirited at times well... almost always when its safe.

I just ran to the courthouse and back its about a 45 min drive. I was in my Mini. I did not race anyone. But I was gettin it driving pretty hard and winding out every gear 1st through 3rd. Because I could and it was fun. I was on a lonely, curvey, 2 lane road and had a blast. I broke more laws in that 45 minutes in my mini then I ever do at red lights with my RX-7.

And it was fun...

see what you described i find acceptable, the whole theory of street racing is different then what you described and in my eyes is dangerous, stupid, and gay.

who can resist spirited driving when you have a very capable car.
