Microsoft announced it was recalling power cords from their Xbox consoles due to a few unintentional fires, we shouldn't have been surprised to see mass hysteria hit the Buzz. Searches surged on just about everything having to do with Bill Gates' big, black monolith. "Xbox" (+213%), "Xbox.com" (+740%), and "Xbox recall" all spiked on fears the console may literally become too hot to handle if left on too long. Concerned parents in the 35- to 44-year-old demographic made up the majority of searches while gamers 17 and under were somewhat oblivious to the apparent danger, making up only 13% searchers. Perhaps they can be excused though, given the imminent release of Gran Turismo 4 (+41%). Searches on the racing game's release date are continuing to roar, up 37% just this week.

Microsoft! Hah. I'm a PS2 guy and here's why. The hard drive on the XB is too small but fortunately can be replaed w/ a larger one. There is the fact that they are made by Gates. Handeling the controller is akward. Also as was stated in the first post they have a tendancy to get hot. True, most teens wouldn't notice somethine like that but I guess as long as they dont start any fires or anything, oops. Now, both media moguls are set to release new consoles sometime in the next year or so. If I remember right XB2 will have dual processors and will be super fast. PS3 is supposed to have some kind of new hardware for increased graphics. Some type of video card I suppose. I will wait t make up my mind on the new systems till more info is available but I'll likely stick to the PS.

Gee, all those reasons huh. You wouldn't happen to choose one system over the actual GAMES available then...that'd be soooooooooooo stooooooped. :P

J/K!

No, actually I.ve had both. I replaced my ps about two months ago because it was having probs playing most of my games. I ruined the XB hacking it. That was my fault. As for the games I'll usually just play one for seversl weeks until I'm bored to death. I don't give a rats *** about exclusive games. My Favs are mostly more popular ones that are produced cross-platform. If I wanted exclusives I'd go GameCube. Currently however GT3 is what I've been on( until 5 am this morning when I finally passed one of the super license tests).

my PS2 stopped playing games about half a year ago, I googled the problem and found a nice little write-up on how to fix it... take it apart, take off a little cover shield thing over the disk drive, and play around with a white gear wheel til it works again... and it worked! I cant wait for GT4.... trying to finish up GT3 before then, but i dont think im going to. Im def a PS guy, they've just always had all the games Ive wanted... gran tourismos, grand theft autos, need for speeds... those are all I really play anyway.
