the best thing i like about them is the targa hard top. the sunroof is nice, but it's small, takes up head room, and tends to get stuck / not work.

Yeah, and don't turn the boost up. The head or block (can't remember which) has a habbit of splitting somewhere low (but above stock settings - I wanna say 10psi). Read that somewhere.
I've never heard of this, and I owned two of these cars in the past. The block is very strong and can take 400+HP without a problem, beyond that the pistons become the weak point. The head itself is also fine, it's the headgasket that tends to blow sometimes. This is mainly because Toyota used a crappy headgasket design, and only torqued the head to ~50ft/lbs from the factory. The headgasket most often tends to deteriorate around the #6 coolant passages. The BEST way to remedy this with little money is to buy the ARP head bolts (not studs), and swap out the stock Toyota studs for these and torque them to 75ft/lbs. It only takes a couple of hours to do and it makes a big difference in the longevity of the head gasket, especially if you modify the car and raise the boost. The best bang for the buck mod on the car is a downpipe and manual boost controller.

We could turn around and resell it for a good price and pull a tidy profit. But i dunno if i wanna do that cuz I actually found a car on my list. And its what i want second to a TII. Thing is its a lot more reliable.

Took it to the shop today to get things checked. Engine is perfect, compression...everything. Only things wrong is a/c is dead for some reason, compressor and freon are good but the big thing is my rear diff is on its way out . So i'm gonna have to spend a chunk replacing that.

It is fast but the whole handling thing kidna sucks. TEMS my ***. But with a 3600 curb weight thats expected. And its more of a GT than anything. At least its RWD.
