I just got this car. it is an 87' rx-7 with 43,000 miles on the original engine. this car is all stock. This is my first car that i have owned. I just want to know if anyone can help me and tell me what i should do. Kinda like giviing me pointers of any type. Anything will help, i have no expierience with cars but i am very good with hands on stuff. I just need to know some pointers for this car. I plan on making it really fast within some time, but i dont have access to a whole lot of money at one time.

Work on changing all the fluids, starting with the oil. Some of them, like the tranny and diff oil are probably original, and over 15 years old.

Do your homework before you mod anything.

Wear your seatbelts and don't drive when yer fucked up.

Enjoy the car!

as you'll find out after you do your homework and make sure the car is properly tuned and running mint...

first thing to do is upgrade the exhaust

is it a turbo or N/A??

I assume his car is n/a, by it being a 1987.

If he has little to no money, I'd say don't upgrade exhaust yet, but do cheap mods - intake, elec. fan (junk yard) erm, I can't think of the other free mods... lol Be sure to change your plugs, whether or not you just got the car, and it has 43k (damn im jealous) miles on it... change 'em.

Hmm.. I think that's it from my corner, I'll post more if I can think of any

They made TII's in 87. I had one. If you're gonna change the plugs, be sure to use NGK and try to go a step colder if you can (little more performance). Also, you have to remember that the biggest performace upgrades on any rotary are intake and exhaust, but ESPECIALLY exhaust. A full exhaust can be had anywhere from $500-$1000, but jus because something is less expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's "worse". Intake is cheap, and so is changing all the fluids, which will make the car run better and live longer. If you don't have lots of money at one time, just buy stuff part-by-part. Don't forget to school the ricers, either!
