the house is like 100+ years old. landlord basically is renting it out for now until he can subdivide and build two houses and rent or sell them. i get the dungeon errrr basement. gotta clean the hell out of it, paint it white then build a little blockade, the put down carpet THEN i can move in. won't be for a week or so. probably after rotorfest. my friends are painting their rooms.... cause they want white not offwhite/yellow. will have pix eventually

ahh the joys of moving....
just know that you're lucky that you haven't been out of town since new year's and paying rent for a place you're lucky to see one week a month

I never had an attic or a basement as a room.. but my room's a seperate building from my parents house, kinda like an apartment.. so it's cool with me.. but I gotta get this damn a/c fixed..
Same here. We have a huge three car garage off of the house and the second floor is one big apartment i live in. Its pretty sweet but same thing i need an air conditioner lol. Its kinda cool cuz my car is always right under me in the garage.

dang, I don't think I'll ever paint another room white or offwhite. After you've gone to color, white just sucks.
painted our room like brick red, and a green that's closer to a clay color
then painted brother's new basement room 2 shades of blue
and I think I'll never put down carpet again, it just soaks up every damn thing (pet dander, hair, odors, foods, any fluid....bleck!) pergo rocks!
edit: nobody around here actually has basements, I think it's against code or something. We have a sort of split level, the basement being half underground, but has a back door...any real basements would probably flood every time it rains here
