from the people i know personally who have had cable and only cable; they just assume it's that much better than dsl because they are paying a shitload more a month.

the people i know that have tried both cable and dsl for an extended period of time, and who actually have firsthand experience with both prefer dsl because of the reliability..

i don't know if they still do, but i remember comcast had a limit on your max download/upload speed.. this was several years ago.. friends were downloading originally at over 100kbs.. but they put a cap on it, and dropped to like 15kbs max.

this may have changed since dsl has taken market share.. but what the ****; who ******* cares.

Aww well sorry to burst your bubble, practically everyone I know that has had DSL, went from DSL to Cable and not the other way around...because Cable was faster, more reliable, and cost effective (albeit a little lower, higher, or the same...)

I guess it depends on your region.

I have been testing quite a bit, lowest test has been 2.96, they are going to have a 6 mps service available soon for another $4.00 a month!

And that phoenix is why jesus loves DSL

ok so everyone who had thier dishs installed sucked, did you ever consider, that like I said, for my area the dish DOESNT WORK WELL.

I actually pay $90 a month for digital cable with HDTV and DVR box that records 80 hours of HDTV or well over a hundred of regular programming, unlimited cable internet use- god knows back in the days of Napster and audiogalaxy I put that to the test, lol

And phone service that includes voice mail,3 way calling, UNLIMITED long distance, caller ID, call waiting, etc ... ( something like 13 features )

and once again, IN MY AREA everyone switches from DSL because cable is much faster and reliable.

You couldnt give me DSL or a dish.

and the device that checks for signal is called a indicator light, when it stops blinking its on the strongest signal, they do practically give away sat service here to sell it such as 4 free recievers, free installation.

I think this topic has pretty well established the fact that it really depends on the area, it's also established the Rob is in fact being reprogrammed by the local cable company, prolly something subliminal. I have dish and always have... love it, now I have DSL, however I don't have the level of love for them that Rob does and I am not sure I want to, it scares me a bit.

have comcast cable, it never goes out. dish network however, goes out only during t-storms. it went out today for about 5 minutes due to the t-storms in the area. it just lost satelite feed. no big deal.

my connection on my computer still sucks though. but i know why it is like that.
