If you have kids, the new law will affect you starting in late July when the Internal Revenue Service starts to send out rebate checks worth $400 a child.

The standard deduction for marrieds will be raised from the current $7,950 to $9,500 -- twice the standard deduction for single people. People who itemize their deductions on their income taxes won’t see any effect, but the majority of couples who take the standard deduction will save $155.

get married and have kids! they may be quite expensive in the long run, but when that refund check comes in the mail, you'll have a smile on your face!
