what is your company, what do you do?

my dad owns an engineering company/distributor, i've seen how difficult it is to run a successful company especially in the past year or so.

Land Surveying Company.

I actually did hire a forum member. Mazdadrifter. He is a CADD tech here now and is working out awesome. I helped him relocate from Kentucky. He is loving it here in Florida.

I do have a job opening but its for an entry level field position. 8$-$10 per hour. If someone was more local I would give them a shot.

Yeah thats us. There is another guy that was doing land surveying that is a member here. We do tree surveys sometimes. We have an instument that shoot a laser beam at the trees and can tell how far they are from it. We also collect all our data on a handheld computer and download it to our computers then either tell the computer to draw a line from point to point or insert a symbol relevent to what the points description is.

I bet you guys all thought we just sat under trees and smoked pot all day huh?

I did hire some guys from a surveying background and they tried to pull that stunt. They are unemployed now. All my employees have been trained by me. I never hire experianced people. They just have bad habits and are usually lazy and dont want to work. Like I said I broke my rule once and had to fire 2 people 30 days after they started. They werent getting anything done they would just come in at the end of the day with excuses.
