last night I went karting at a great new place by my house called velocity 17. Great track setup, bunch of great drift turns and only a couple cars on the track at a time. The wait was the only downside. They also have a realistic full f18 flight simulator, a bunch of lifelike Indy simulators. Going again today, first time round had to learn the track this time I'm gonna rip it up. They give you an awesome timesheet printout too.

If you live near me go check it out on route 17 in maywood by the mitsu dealer.

Damnit I wish we had a cool go-kart track. All we have is a small one about 30 minutes away with karts that won't top 20mph.

I killed James Sunday, ran a best of 47.611 to his 49.950. My g/f ran a low 48 too. Ran into a few morons on the track who had no idea what a "line" was and fubared a few of my faster laps.

Man, all we have out here are some weak sauce tracks. They are fun and we also have some pretty intense electric karts that will do 45 easy in a short distance. Those are actually more fun than the gas powered out here. The best track I was ever on was in spain and it was like a full on raceway course with karts that did 60+ ... it was like 15 bucks too. Ever since then Ive been holding out for something like that in the states

I have however been giving serious consideration into shifter kart racing, which looks VERY fun and you can get started for like 3 grand off craigslist.

Where you living again kevin?

I'm in northern NJ, the track doesn't say the speed of the carts and its hard to judge that ****.

I went to one in CT that had 40mph karts and it was kinda cool. Same deal with a printout of your track times and such.

I went to one in CT (http://www.ontrackkarting.com/) that had 40mph karts and it was kinda cool. Same deal with a printout of your track times and such. Had to wear a helmet and a neck brace. $35 for two 8 minute heats.

What was the pricing for this one? I suppose I'll call them soon. The one in CT is like 2 hours from me, but this one in NJ is about an hour....

Something like that Tekniques?

*I think next time we should bring banana peels, turtle shells, and mushrooms....
