True some people never get it. Ive taught lots of people to weld. And i had this one guy that had a two hour lesson a week for two months and was completely useless. He never got any better. One guy we had working for us picked it up within a week and was able to reasonable welds.

I've never taken any classes, however I've done lots and lots of stick welding and wire MIG welding. I can make a weld look super pretty, but break the first time you hit it with a hammer. I can also make welds that look like **** but the metal object will break before the welded area. Im not very good and I've welded a lot of **** ... some people I know are very very good, but they have also taken many hours of formal training.

Anyways, if youre just doing shitty stuff, ask someone you know that knows how to weld. Go ask them for some quick tips and lessons. If you just jump in and try it you will make shitty welds and you wont learn much.

i can mig pretty well. It's not too hard, just pratice a lot.

find someone that knows what they are looking at and have them inspect the welds, and they can tell you what you need to do to improve.

Nismo Convert should know. He's frigging working in the nuclear industry. They don't let joe blow from down the street weld in the plant. You gotta have papers, tests, certs, and qualifications up the ying yang to even touch a welder in a nuclear power plant. He's exagerating how easy it is to weld.

Whats this supposed to mean? MIG welding is pretty freaking easy, TIG and Stick, are pretty difficult. MIG, Maybe it's just me was so easy, but I did learn how to Stick weld first. My no means am amd I a journeyman Welder, it's just not that hard, take programs in school that will facilitate your need to learn how to weld.
