For those of you who thought that give GM millions of dollars would go to waste. LOL you guys thought that money would be wasted?
GM, Segway Roll Out Project P.U.M.A. |
That'll be a big seller in Canada and Northern States.. Should do very well on ice covered highways at -30.. Way to go GM.
They would be twice as far ahead if they just put out some diesel cars and smaller practical trucks that weren't total POS, and didn't look like a leftover capsella toy from the 1980's.. |
That would sell like hotcakes in my hometown, you have whole families driving by on those little battery powered four-wheeled scooters because their too ******* lazy to walk...now they only have to buy 1 and they can sit together while looking like complete idiots.
|
a few of the beach towns by me have some of the smart cars in thier driveways, parking is scarce and I believe they let you park them on wide sidewalks.
|
Damn thing looks like a motorized hand truck.
I wonder how it would fare in a head on collision with a Chevrolet Suburban? |
i wouldn't want to go 35mph in that thing i'll tell you that much.
|
we dont even see that many smart cars here, they ARE good in like SF though.
someone took one to the track once, that was funny |

GM, Segway Roll Out Project P.U.M.A. I just figured out what the acronym "PUMA" stands for: Piss Unclesam's Money Away! |

HA HA I think I pooped a little cause I laughed so hard when i read that. |
Whats the top speed of that thing? Even in Asian countries their little tinbox cars will do a 100 km/h to keep with normal vehicular traffic.. I just see that thing as total safety nightmare, to small and slow for roads, to fast and big for bike path systems.
Right now Segways are banned on pedestrian and bike routes here, as a motorized vehicle. In 1994 dodge could make a fullsize diesel truck that got 25 mpg. In 2007, governments corked up diesels and knocked 10-12 mpg off of them. The only way besides a smart car, to get a good diesel these days is to buy an older model 3/4 ton or heavier truck. Its just ridiculous that there is a huge hole in the product lineup that could be filled with existing european spec diesel models, that offer double the mpg of their gas counterparts.. Chrysler makes the minivan in diesel spec in Europe and I bet it beats the 18 mpg my minivan gets. But they spend their time on niche fad concepts like that, let them go bankrupt. |
So they basically spent millions on R+D for something thats not allowed in 90% of anywhere.
|
but its sooooo cute!!!

Top speed is 35 max, i can't remember the range I think it was 40 miles. LOL defprun you are talking in millions, that's funny. I'm wondering the last time "millions" was mentioned in congress, they only talk in billions and trillions. That piece of **** prolly cost the taxpayer 80 billion. How much did they give GM here about a year back to make fuel efficient cars? 25 billion i think, so that thing was at least that much. |

Well if its billions all I can do is re-iterate what Repu said. ITS SOOOOO CUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE. |
im telling you they should have just given everyone in the country a GM, Ford, or chrysler- now thats instant relief and gets rid of the cars on the lot

agreed |
I was thinking more along the lines of, letting the big 3 tank and giving everyone the stimulous money to go buy something else! Doesnt even have to be a car!

I think thats half the problem with the big 3 , I'd like to know what their internal costs are for warranty.. I know on my sprinter the back charges to Chrysler from the dealership exceeded 18k.. They didn't make much money on that on, if any at all.. I am suprised Ford is doing as well as it is, the 6.0 litre diesel fiasco was huge..And I hear the the new 6.4 isn't much better.. |
**** everyone has been telling me how great american cars are so I've been stoked about being on the hook for repairs, now you tell me it's not that good of a deal? They might break?
|
Its a better investment to just let the people chose where to spend their money and hope they dont spend it where it's being wasted, in the big 3.
|
it was a joke! you think I was serious about giving everyone a car, lol
just seems with the billions given to them at least we should have gotten more out of it- like a segway |

I am all for the booze and hookers.
The stimulus spending and bailout money is going be head scratcher for sometime...Its the old cart before the horse game gone wrong again, individuals with small sums of money spending on their own wants and dreams were the builders of all banks and large corporations, not the other way around as they would have us believe with marketing.. I think Obama will be a one term guy as well... Great speeches do not put paychecks into peoples bank accounts, and I think people are tiring of him just talking about doing things instead of doing meaningful things.. Whos on for Jeb Bush '12.... Just kidding.. |
YAY for the Bush Crime Family!

if jesus christ was the prez right now we would still be a in world of ****

See Rob you fail to grasp that JESUS CHRIST IS PRESIDENT RIGHT NOW!!! Go Jesus! |
Its not what you inherit as a leader, its what you do with it.. What he was inheriting is what got him elected..
|
take me to your leader
What's this "GM" everyone is always talking about anyhow? They new? |
This is scary...since GM is pretty much government owned now, and all-the-sudden GM produces "the people's car" or volkswagen...in german...does that make Obama the new Hitler? I mean, the last time "a car for the people" was brought out, 9 million + jewish were slaughtered...
