One of these days I'd like to finish priming and painting the 2-car attached garage. It's sheetrocked and taped.



The 3-car detached I can't even imagine insulating and sheetrocking, although it would make it easier to heat in the winter! I hardly ever work out there when it's really cold, but if it is, and I need to, I run a fan-forced kerosene heater. Makes it bearable.

 

i want a damn garage...thats not down the street.

cabinets on the walls, high enough so you can open doors, and mirrors and diamond plate on the lower portion of the walls looks great and reflects light awesome

 

gotta start doin that too... robs cabinets suggestion is good.. as you can see in this pic..

ive managed to neatly arrange some items in the opposite side of the garage temporarily..

want to remove that deck for another lift but id be losing storage room.. thats an eight foot clearance up there.....

 

I am about to start a 24x24 addition to mine to set my dyno in, think I am gonna use those ICF(insulated concrete forms) since they have really good noise insulation values. Just waiting for the M'fing snow to leave so I can finish excavating and lay out the concrete work...

I hate drywalling and taping, worst job ever...I think I will cheat and just use masking tape on the joints and paint over it.

I need more lights, you simply can't have enough light in a garage if you intend to work in it.

Here its common to put plywood on the walls for the first couple of feet, paint it and silicone it to the floor so if you need to hose it out the wall doesn't get ruined, drywall and water just makes mold..

 

nice thing about plywood is that you can mount anything to it anywhere



when doing lighting or any improvement project check your local power company rebate programs, I got a really nice rebate for using energy efficient lighting.

 

Yeah, everything that needs hanging always comes on 18" centres, or 21" centres... You'de think that they would clue in to basic wall framing dimensions when they manufacture something like a bolt bin etc etc.

Our power company here tries to encourage consumption.

 

sometimes you just want to mount something and you dont want it only on a beam, you just want it somewhere on the wall.
