we started learning about them today in english and you dont really relize what all happened there untill you read some of the journals and such and see pictures of what happened and what life was like in there. Such as the "showers". we didnt see any picture of it, but i took it upon myself to find some, and i would post them here but they are mighty disturbing...

Don't man, I've read a few of them briefly and they make me sick to my stomach and I can't stop thinking about it.

I'd really rather not read it.

And pictures? NO.

Pushing this stuff under the rug isnt the way to deal with it.

Some of you guys would be brought to tears by reading books about what goes on in war. If you want to read an amazing book, go read Flags of Our Fathers. Its written by son of one the men that survived the battle for Iwo Jima and raised the American flag. It tells of what the battles were like, and what the japanese had done, its shocking. Its one of those books where you read a certain chapter and you are just paralyzed in thought.

Yeah, and they can easily forget what was done...

If you want to research something pretty grusome, look up "the rape of Nanking"

It was a chineese city occupied by the Japanese in 37-38. They completley destroyed the city. The Chinese had built tank traps (huge trenches) around the city. The japanese just filled these holes with bodies and used them as abridge. When the bodies would decompose and get pushed down, they would throw fresh ones on. Wemon were raped all the time, little girls were raped and killed. The japanese often used chinese as bayonette pratice, tying them to a pole. Heads were lined up everywhere. The japanese soldiers gave children opium and gor much of the city addicted to it. The Japanese would not allow the chinese to clean their trash up, so trash and bodies lay in the street. I think like only 5% of the damage done to the city was in the actual seige, the rest was just terrorizing... i think it was 370,000 dead...

One really disturbing thing. Two japanese officers held a bet. They bet on who could decapitate the most chineese within some time period. One got 105, the other 106. This got reported on the front page of Japanese newspapers. It is insane to think that this stuff went on!

pics here...be prepared..

If you want to read a GREAT, TRUE book/short novel about a WWII concentration camp, read the book "Night". It explains this man's, childhood accounts pre concentration camp, and the day they were liberated by the Russians.

Let's just say, one of the most eye opening, and disturbing books I've ever read. It really is scary some of the things he witnessed. Children being hung and tortured, women being raped, a 48 mile non-stop run, and worse.

I for one, do not care for reading unless the book is interesting. I've read many books, and it's one of the few that I couldn't put down. Truly worth reading.
