what actually happens when you put foil/metal into the microwave (according to Futurama - the most reliable of sources) is that everything starts turning blue. If, for some reason, a supernova should be exploding around/near you and emitting its red radiation, and should these two radiations (red and blue) combine, you will actually be transported back in time to 1947, to Roswell, New Mexico, where your grandfather will die in an atomic blast and you will have sex with your grandmother, thereby becoming your own grandfather. Doesn't that make you all warm and tingly inside?

Don't forget you'll lack the Delta brain wave and be immune to the space brain's powers, thereby allowing you to defeat them.

 

If you put a small empty bag of chips (doritos/fritos) in the microwave for about 10 seconds, you shrink it almost perfectly in detail!

You gotta use the bags with the tin foil looking inside. Oh, and expect bright blue and orange sparks.
