I took my wife to West Palm Beach for a consultation w/ a Lasik surgeon. (FYI- This surgery is going to cost the same as a really good quality boob job - I gently pointed that out to the missus)

On my way back North towards home I saw a RX-8 handing a Acura or Honda its *** on the Southbound side of the Interstate. I smiled from ear to ear to see my rotary brother putting foot to ***.

Then I almost killed a man. If it was not for my wife in the car he would be somewhere under our truck.

I was pulling out of a parking lot and looking to the left to check for a break in traffic. I gave a quick look to the right spotted a guy walking towards me on the sidewalk. Knew it would be a few before he got near me. I saw a car signaling to turn into the parking lot I was leaving. I had to hit it to make it out into the flow. I punched it to about 1/2 throttle and my wife scremed "STOP!" I slammed on the brakes and look in front of me there was a stupid ******* on a bicycle almost under the truck screaming like a girl.

Dumbass was riding his bike down the side of the road AGAINST the traffic. He never bothered to stop or to realize that I had my head turned I did not see his dumb *** going the wrong way. He also had no helmet on which is against the law here as well.

He had the nerve to shake his head at me as he peddled off. It took me a few seconds to calm down then realize all the crap this moron was doing wrong. I at first, felt like I was in the wrong then realized he was on the wrong sode of the damn road!!!

That was my fun day.... at least the RX-8 won.

its actually advised to ride and run against traffic so you can see whats coming at you unless you're riding in the traffic in which you then have to follow legal road rules and directions.

(5)(a) Any person operating a bicycle upon a roadway at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place and under the conditions then existing shall ride as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway except under any of the following situations:

1. When overtaking and passing another bicycle or vehicle proceeding in the same direction.

2. When preparing for a left turn at an intersection or into a private road or driveway.

What your talking about Kevin is for pedestrians. In Florida a bicycle is considered a motor vehicle and must abide by the same rules as cars. So the dumbass was on the wrong side of the road.

Lets say you are correct though for a second. Then its the dumbass' responibility on the bicylce to look out for potential obsticles. Driving in front of my truck as I was exiting a shopping center wasn't too smart now was it??

But that point is mute as he was indeed breaking Florida law.

The funny part is I saw the pedestrian walking where he should be and there was no incident w/ him. I did not see the bicycle that was farther down the road driving where he shouldn't. So if you were walking towards me I would have seen you like I did the pedestrian.

Yup, you would get to deal w/ State Farm. Of course if you were the dumdass on the bicycle you would have gotten a TICKET. Then I would have sued you for emotional distress.
