so i'm up in Richmond, VA this weekend on a lil romantic get-away with a lady friend of mine. The valet at the hotel installed the roof panel on the vette for me when it started sprinkling rain.. i came down after it quit raining and removed it again and we went out for a drive. A different valet put the roof in the SECOND damned time it clouded up... we hopped in , glanced at the rear roof lock (assumed the front ones were locked as well) and away we went out for dinner. About 3 minutes into the trip, the fully automated removable roof system triggered and suddenly it was a bit breezy in the car... my date was speechless and for some reason, i couldn't stop laughing after it happened. I think that was because she thought i was serious when i told her if she pissed me off that i'd hit the ejection button for her seat.

The roof is still usable but looks like crap and has several chips in the rear edge of it and is scratched up badly. This turned out to be an EXPENSIVE weekend...

It can happen when the cracked out stripper in the back seat pulls the lever to find out what it does. Always lock them.

Yeah I've noticed that people like to just randomly play with those things.

how is it the hotels fault? it's not their job to install it... they did it to keep my interior from getting trashed. it's my fault for not assuring that MY roof was installed correctly.

The roof is still usable to keep the interior from getting wet... but will have to be replaced due to looking like ****. I could probably fix it and paint it body colored to match the car and get away with that.... but i prefer the clear roof.
