That sucks, but **** happens. Try not to let it eat you up. Forty bucks to get out of a jam like that isn't too bad. I lost a tire on the interstate with my 7 a few years ago. The entire sidewall of the Dunlop SP Sport disintegrated. It was the best tire on the car. I had to watch rush hour traffic go by for about an hour before getting an $80 tow. That weekend, I bought two new Yokohamas for like $240.

 

goodyear shop around here is gold. awesome service, and always hook me up with discounts because i used to deliver parts to them back in college. and they do good work. got an alignment done for my moms car for 25 bucks, and has been great for over 2 years now...



oh yeah, and i met the blimp pilots.. cool guys.. took a friend of mine and his girl up for a quick ride.



sounds like you just went to the wrong shop. sorry about your experience.
