So I was on call today and passed by this. I had actually been looking for one a couple of months ago but gave up after after a while. I was planning for a jeep. Anyhow so I see this pull off and have a look. Young kid owns it. Wants $500. I offer $300 and he jumped on it.

Of coarse i know its a project obviously. As if you guys didn't know I like that sort of **** by now. Anyway I'm hoping to have it running and solid to bring down to the outer banks at the end of May..

Sorry for the big *** pics.

Sounds like I need to AIM you sometime. I know nothing of VW bugs yet.

If you put a 13B in it, you'll pay way less to make the same power as an ACVW with all the goodies mentioned above.

What about cooling with it in the rear? Where to mount the radiator and oil cooler?

Well that's for you to figure out. I'll give you a helpful hint and say only a water cooled Baja can get away with a radiator in the back since they usually have an exposed engine and some degree of airflow back there. All other VWs with water cooled engines need a radiator up front. That Manx-like thing you've got there is a bit of a grey area.
