[quote name='Rotarydragon' date='May 30 2005, 11:39 AM']I suppose if I had cable I'd watch it more often. Used to be a CART fan but Tony George screwed that up big time. Heck do they even run CART anymore? IRL is OK I guess.

That doesn't make a lot of sense. You show anger at George, yet say his race series that caused the whole problem is OK.
They call CART 'Champ Car World Series' this year / month / week.

Yeah that's why I said OK I guess From what I watched of the Indy it looks like they finally have more then 1 or 2 packages to run as far as engine and chassis go. Penske is over there so I have at least some interest.
Part of the attraction to CART all those years ago and especially the Indy 500 was the myraid of chassis and engine combonations you'd see running. F1 does the same thing but it doesn't have quite the same feel I guess. I remember the year Menard bought buicks V6 for the indy and managed to produce the fastest lap on record. Still never fixed the reliabilty problem.
Then of course there was Penske using the Mercedes engine to obliterate everyone, using the extra boost they allowed pushrod engines at the time. I think that's what made them change a lot of the rules.
Anyways, doubt it will ever be quite as interesting as it was. NASCAR is usually fairly dull allthough I will watch it. You have Ford, Dodge, Chevy and 18 rolls of duct tape. And billy bob's magic chewinggum mod.
