Its prob because all the home owners in FL are pissed. Isnt the property taxes real high in FL because there is no income tax??? That means that property owners are paying for everything and non prop owners that have apt or what ever dont pay hardley any tax for anything.
If i was a property owner in FL I would be pissed cause if they went to a income tax there would be much more people to share the tax making it much cheaper. BTW - I dont know spacifically what your talking about cause I havent heard of the fight I'm just throwing out some .02 STEPHEN |

I dont really know what the prop tax is in FL but I've heard its pretty high compared to most states since they have no income tax in FL....they have to make $ somehow. It just kinda sucks that the prop owners have to pay for everything.

Oh give it some time, the dumb ass things they do on a very regular basis in CA will get to you soon. ESPECIALLY the Bay Area.
They still have busted roads because of the earthquake some 10 years ago or more. All cause they have to make sure everything is PC and.... |
If you think about it, if someone is renting a house, the person that owns that house has to pay tax on it right? If that person as any type of brain they would count that tax owed into what they figure for the rent payment, at least I would. And I am sure that they do that. That means that everybody that leaves in a house has to pay property tax.
The government just wants sales tax or some other type of tax so that they can collect more tax but it is spread out so it does not look so bad. Washington is one of the highest taxed states - because with sales tax there is not a way to easily see exactly how much you are paying so you will more easily pay tax for other things. Just my thoughts on the subject. |

One good thing about the majority of Florida.
No emmisions!! I personally like the warm weather year round. I hate all the old people here in the winter. The beaches are awesome. The girls are hot. My car can be driven year round and I dont have to worry about it getting all kinds of rust. Unless of course I lived on the beach which I dont so no prob. I have not even heard of this tax you are talking about. I do own a home and can say that my property tax is low compared with someplace like New York. My house is worth about 140k my bud has a house on Long Island worth about the same. I pay $3500 a year in property tax he pays close to $10K. |

property taxes aren't that bad here really, and we only have a 7 or 7.5% sales tax i think... but most peopl here make good money, except for the social security geezers.. u can find them working at local supermarkets bagging the groceries..

Hmm, this thread turned kinda stupid, all states and cities have something wrong with them so there is no point is argueing about it.
Also, paying $3500 or what ever it was on a 140K house is actually pretty high compared to a lot of states. I'd only pay about $600 in taxes for that house but I'd make up for it with income tax which sucks. The states always get thier money one way or another haha STEPHEN |

This home I put a bid on is a 3 bedroom, livingroom, eat in kitchen, detatched garage,2 bathroom, livingroom of course, full basement, 1st floor has 2 bedrooms, kitchen, livingroom, 2nd floor has 1 big bedroom, bathroom, and den. Its by no means large, its one of the smallest houses in the area ( Amityville ), then again the houses around it are much nicer which makes this one look nicer as well, lol. Private beach for residents only, etc.. |
