OMG, what a pain in the ass!

1) The wipers stopped 'parking'. Delay wipe did nothing. Washer didn't work.

2) Busted out the FSM. Followed diagnostics. Narrowed it to 'Faulty Wiper Module.'

3) Purchase new Wiper relay module ($61.75, dealer). Install in 3 mins.

4) Symptoms worse

5) Spend one entire day tearing apart the engine compartment, removing the steering wheel and all dash trim, hunting for the shorted wire that's causing the problem.

6) Test out all wires and switches, find there's no problem

7) Jog (literally) to Advance Auto. Pick up new wiper motor.

8) Using a DMM, measure connector leads on motor module to ground. Compare new and old motor units.

9) Find obvious short in motor module on old part.

10) Replace with new part.

11) Reassemble vehicle for two hours

12) Test wipers

13) Realize wiper arms are installed 180deg off

14) Spend hour trying to free jammed wiper arms from cowl.

15) Unjam wipers, disassemble cowl, replace wiper arms in proper position, reinstall.

16) Finished.

Moral of the story? I thought it could have been the wiper motor module, but the FSM said if it wasn't the solid-state-circuit relay board, it was a shorted wire. The FSM = Garbage. Thanks GM!

So Sunday I am six hours away in the woods/camp and my truck dies at a landing.I pull the fuel filter off which i then realize was not changed with the new motor"7.3L turbo". its full off rust and ****? The bottom has an aluminum threaded can that has a water sump and sensor.I go to unscrew it and it brakes and just spins. The filter now leaks like a river.

Hitchhike to my buddies camp.Get on cell phone Sunday afternoon and call A/Z 1st in the nearest town.Guys says not in stock,$94.00 -3days.WTF? Soooo I hitchhike to town and ask guy to let me go into A/Z just cause, this time I ask morning dude for a FF for a 1988-94.(have debate of exact year...idoits) and wow...they have the filter and its only 19.99!The night guy needs to be raped in the oil section.

One day and hours later I am able to start my way home!

Good thing cause i didnt want to have to turn into a cannible.
