Well I was driving last night and going kind of fast. I was in a rush and had to take care of some stuff. Some black honda civic was pacing me and kept, speeding up, passing me and then slowing down. I was doing 90+ when I heard my V1 go off. I was by an airport where the V1 always goes off, so I only slowed down a little. It kept going off and then started showing behind me. Sometimes I come across cars that have old *** radars that tend to set the V1 off, so I thought it might be that. I couldn't see any cops or anything. I figured out that whatever was tripping the V1 was behind me and moving. I speed up to about 100 and am still not loosing it. There was a decent amount of large trucks on the road so I kept weaving around them. I figured if it was a cop, he was way back and I wasn't going to wait for him. Soon after I saw some red flashing lights a few miles back. I coudln't find any good exits, so I pulled intot he bext rest area. I went to flip off the lights but saw that the cop was already pulling in. I quickly turned the lights back on because I knew he caught me. I was sraight up with him. Told him I knew I was going fast because I had something important to take care of. He said he clocked me going 92 in a 65 and saw me overtake 13 cars. I also told him about the honda that was bothering me. He originally thought it was one of my friends who called me and told me to exit. I said that I didn't know the guy and was trying to get away from him because of the way he was driving. He asked if I had a blackout switch for my tailights. I said no, I went to signal when I saw him comming, and showed him how the turn signal is on the same stalk as the headlight switch. He seamed to buy it. I also showed him my state trooper card. So he goes back to his cruiser and comes back awhile later. Gave me a ticket for 92 in a 65, one for expired registration, and also improper passing. He said that those could add up to a class B misdemeanor, which means I could have gone to jail for the night. I thanked him for letting it go at that. I know I was wrong and guess I'll just pay the fines, but would like to get the points taken off. I plan to go to court. Anyone got advice?

you don't really get points off, you just get a credit. the tickets and points are still on the records though.

not arguing taking the class. it will help you a great deal with insurance.

since its your first, go to court. If he doesn't show plead not guilty, if he does show plead for probation before judgement if they have that in your state.

Did you see the radar gun itself? Is the last time the gun was calibrated on the ticket? Does the tickets have all the information filled out correctly? Contact your attorney on this as well. Because the Honda was trying to pace you, who says he did not clock the honda and keep the reading for you?

Thanks guys. I will carefully look over the ticket and see what it says. There is a good lawyer in the aread that has helped out some of the rx-7 guys before.
