So, my new house came with a nice 2 car garage... but only the walls touching an interior wall were finished... and shitty to boot. Well, anyway I decided to insulate, drywall, mud/sand and paint the ******. Wasn't the most fun I've ever had, but goddamn I love it! Looks SO nice. I hung some flouresent lights too - and damn its BRIGHT in there now!

Trying now to decide on the lower half of the wall. It's finished in white now, but I'm thinking either painting the lower half grey, or putting thin plywood over it for greater durability and then painting grey... Thoughts?

Oh, and I think I'm going to VCT the floor - that **** is pretty cheap at the home depot (like .60 ea) and it's relatively easy to maintain. I could do a nice checker black and white for about 500 bones-jonez. Thoughts?

Will have a few pics up later. Cleaning that MESS right now.

Wasn't there someone here who ran PVC and made quick-disconnect things for pressurized air around the garage? If I built my own, I'd want to do that.

They are only required to finish the walls below and against living space for fire purposes and even then most builders just "fire tape". The only garage I've ever seen finished is in our house, but its possible it was done by a PO.

I'd fiberglass it but then i fiberglass everything these days.

Yeah - I figured they did it to code, and that's it.

I'm thinking carbon fiber. And Type-R on the floor in bright Yellow. haha!

Honestly, I'm not really sure what the heck I'm doing yet. It's just nice that the temperature is tolerable now. It was like 29 outside last night... 53 in the garage. WOO HOO!

I need to get pictures. I'm lazy. Never even took before or during pics... oh well.

You could use wonderboard, which is cement sheetrock basically. I used it in our shower, it's a ******* nightmare to work with. Or you have them spray it with shotcreat, remove the lower 3 feet, put some 1/4 ply in and spray it. Although you'll prolly never do that much damage to the drywall unless yer sacrificing goats in there and one gets away

I have no room for anymore nightmares! LOL Maybe I'll just wait to see how bad I **** it up first, then decide which way to go.

My biggest fear with the goat sacrifices isn't one getting away and tearing up the drywall... but one getting away and drinking my ******* beer!
