I was going to refi for 15 years and found out my customer (mortgage broker) and "friend" got me a mortgage that has a pre-payment penalty. $5K to be exact. He claims he did not know it was in there. I was stupid for not reading the fine print. I trusted he was looking out for me. Well,.... I decided not to Refi. as it costs anywhere from $4K to $6K to do the whole deal. My wife and I decided to live off of her paycheck for the next 2 years and dump my entire paychecks into the mortgage. We will have it paid off in 24 months right as the prepay clause expires.

I think I'll throw a Mortgage burning party like they used to do in the old days.

Rob - I used to live in Mineola. I have a lot of Family there still. They are scattered in that area. I have some that live in Rosalyn too.

I used to go to Hempstead Harbor to go to the beach when I was a little kid.

Ha, its only a few blocks from that house, the street that house is on there probably isnt a house for under $500,000 or so. If you didnt know where the Amity house was you wouldnt know it was there, they changed it a bit, took out those windows.
