A few months ago orderd some licence plates for one of my best friends for his birthday present.

On line they were approved and just had to wait for them to be made.

Now this week he recieved a letter from the California DMV Saying that the letters & numbers of

Lic: FC13BEE were in some way and i quote "offensive to good taste and decency"

Seriously? man they are so wack. I soooo disagree with them anyways went online did some research found out that we have 10 days after recieving notice to demand a hearing. Debating if we should. If it would even be worth it. Does anyone have any opinions or sugestions?

If you have the time and want a chance to see government in action, then by all means fight it! Me? I'd weigh the pros and the cons and decide it wasn't worth it. But we do need people who are willing to call BS on the govt every now and then. I say go for it!

sometimes if the words look like they will spell something else they get denied.

Check the font of the plates, if when its spelled out it might look like something else that could be why.

its like if you spell out I3ooBS it looks like *****.

I don't think it's offensive. But I don't like vanity plates. Makes it easier for others to remember your license plate.

Officer: "Do you remember the car that sped away?"

Witness: "I remember it was red, 2 door coupe"

Officer: "Did you managed to catch the plates?"

Witness: "Ya it was easy, it was hot car"

Officer: "perfect"

Wouldn't you want the witness to try to remember random letters and numbers?

L1O 0A9D or wahtever? try remembering that when a car is speeding away

It was my thought at one point to get a custom plate along the lines of 1OI0IQ1

Try getting that down correctly in a split second..
