First big storm last night, about 3 inches of snow and some ice, got about a MILE from my work, had just enuff time to get there, time in, and get my breakfast, wind starts blowing HARD, i steer against it, wind dies down, i am still steering, truck starts to slide back and forth, decided i couldn't get it straight again and let it go in the ditch (on the other side was a HUGE hill)..so I'm like ok, no big deal, I'll throw it in 4-Low and just get out and be late...wrong...i sat in the ditch for an hour and a half till my g-friend's dad came and got me........I drove the RX-7 throughout last winter and NEVER even came close to ditching it, even in WAY worse than i was driving in today...BLEH!

Anyone wanna trade an 1989 S-10 Blazer 4X4 for an 87-91 N/A 7?!?!?!?

Haha, yeah you still have to know how to drive it. Pic of one of my more favorite work days of nasty job site driving.

Thumbs down

Not exactly Revvin...It did better trying to get out in 2wd than 4..........(NOTE: I also JUST found out that i coulda kept it in 4-high on the highway, which i HAD NO IDEA!!! This is my first truck and was always told never to put it in 4wd on the highway) I also have no weight in the back end, no sand or anything, so that couldn't helped, it's mostly my fault and since this was my first time using 4wd, i just kinda expected it to do a bit more, i got most of the way out, but had to stop for traffic on the road and after that it just dug in instead of out.... :P

lol, dumbass, I was going to say you dont know how to drive

then you say how you were in 2 wheel drive, lol

my truck in 2wd SUCKS in the snow, why the hell wouldnt you drive it

in 4wd???? 4 wheel low isnt good for the highway. Low gear wont

get you out of a situation once you get stuck.

you dont need bags of sand and all that other ****, just 4 wheel drive.

Funny thing is, I've neer (knock on wood) been stuck in the snow with my '93 Bravada, which for the uninformed is an AWD 4x4 S-10. I think it has to do with all the extra weight on the chassis, and the SmartTrak crap. In fact, I spent Monday evening pulling people out of those ditches on the side of the road.

Oh, and my truck is lowered 3/3, with 16" camaro wheels and some bridgstone passenger car tires - nothing special for traction!

you need to learn to drive my friend. I have an 88 s-10 blazer, I just drove it through the bilzzard here. 6+ inches of snow on the road, had complete control both going and stopping.

You can put it in 4wd high whenever you are driving, and whatever road conditions, the only thing is is the road is dry and you make a sharp turn, you will make the truck unhappy

yeah but were you driving on 2 inches of snow and 1 inch of ice? (it rained till 9, froze then the snow came and drifted/covered the ice) and you also don't catch the wind nearly as bad as i do since i am a LOT higher and have a SUV style cab...so THERE!?

Sean

P.S. I need to quit skimming i see you have a Blazer also..so skip that part, but it really was mostly the wind that did me in, maybe lowering it will help.....
