[quote name='Fd3BOOST' date='Jul 25 2005, 07:06 AM']I saw the news last night. The three guys in the car all died. The guy my dad was try to comfort while he was freaking out died also. The other two boys are listed as critical still.

Dave, if you check back that nbc4 link it has updated pictures and info on the guys who passed. Plus the video from nbc that ran on the local news.

This just illustrates the important part of the message that gets missed in drivessafe and don't drink and drive campaigns:

It is the people left behind that pay the price for your stupidity. You, you're dead, and either "in a better place" or, well, obliviated from existance. The rest of your family, friends, people who were at the scene, they have to pay the price for the rest of their lives!

I'm not sorry at all for the driver, nor for the people in the car. They all get off pretty easy for their poor judgement. Imagine if they had hit an oncoming car, or pedestrian or whatever.

For the posters, who helped out, I am sorry. You did a very brave thing, and it will haunt you, but you can feel good about saving some lives.

For everyone else, REMEMBER THE OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE when you get behind the wheel. Think about your mom, or your wife, or your kids standing beside your coffin, or watching it be lowered into the ground.

Couldn't have said that better myself. I know myself and Dave both thought about that same stuff. We both have kids, etc. People in general just need to think a little more before they act.

I stopped by the accident scene today to talk to some of the guys standing there looking at the site. Appearently I knew the driver. He was a local guy who used to have a 300z that I gave a few rides in my rx7. He used to AIM me asking about FD's

The passenger owned a Blue Supra. All of them were car guys just like most of us.

That road is no joke at all especially when wet. There was even an accident there about a week ago also, but not as bad as this one. They did have a memorial there today, I drove past it this morning. I did not know what was going on until somebody told me about it at work.

Honestly, those are the worst roads when wet. I never speed on those roads, because you never know what is around the corner.

Thanks Ryan, Joyce(Ryan's g/f), John, Dave, and Leslie. Oh, and Jerry, he has always been a helful guy.

That's fucked up, and think about it this way guys

How many of these accidents do you hear about or see on the news, where you were nowhere near, and on the news they just said "driver died and passenger critical condition in hospital"

You think, that sucks...

But if you were there, the driver was decapitated or missing a limb or something, and it's completely gruesome..

The news really makes it cut and dry: Who died and who's alive, without the gore.

If you knew about some of the fucked up **** fire and rescue crews and cops have seen on a regular basis that you don't see or hear (other than cut and dry details), you would be alot more apt to slow the **** down and drive responsibly..

While i was at school there was an accident outside of my apartment. Similiar situation we were drinking on the balcont heard a cars engine racing but this one had a siren behind it. The guy couldn't make the turn and ran into the side of a house. The scene wasn't anywhere near as bad as this one since the only guy in the car didn't get killed.

I have driven drunk on multiple occasions the only thing is i will never drive at a high rate of speed, hell I barely do the speed limit when i do. If I am that drunk i don't get behind the wheel. I don't even like to drive fast when I am sober if i have anyone in the car. I don't want to risk it. This guy was just being irresponsible. It is sad for the families of the deceased and the two who lived they will hate that they lived and the others had to die.
