I was shopping around for an Optima Red Top, because the one I have has been in 3 vehicles, sat in carport over a year in between, and still runs like a champ.

My neighbor works at Battery Source, and says they carry the Orbital, and that it's just as good (they dropped Optimas because they can warranty Orbitals better). It's $24 cheaper than the cheapest red top I can find in town, at $140.

Have you used one? Are they just as good (resist elements, recharge after being completely dead, etc.)?

I ended up getting it, mostly because it was cheaper than any red top in town, and I bought it over the phone from the Battery Source where my neighbor works. He delivered it to my doorstep!

My optima went dead again, 1 year old. Took out one of the diesel interstates and put it in its place, after a recommended kick charge as outlined on the optima site with my battery tender. Drove it to work and checked it out after I got home.

Advanced Auto replaced it no problems under warranty, still have 22 months of warranty remaining

bjs had some, but not the one I wanted, so I ordered one from amazon, good thing for free shipping which saved me like $24-$26, no one locally had the 37lb 40 month free replacement and 108 month warranty version.
