A friend of mines father had a Toyota Cressida (I think). Well, it had a button in the center console that was labelled turbo. He insisted that it was turbocharged but really what the button did was engage an overdrive. It made very little difference but he thought it was the ****.

Phone convo;

Friend - "You've got to come check out my new engine! We reused the front rotor and housing from the TII engine, and the back half we just mated an NA housing and rotor!"

Me - "Wait...say that again? You're kidding right?"

Friend - "Yeah dude, I figured I would get the low end torque of an NA and the high end of a turbo!"

Me - *Stutters exasperatingly*, "But, you wont because its going to want to shake itself apart, and an NA only gets better low end due to not having to spool a turbo!"

Friend - "Naw man, I would bet its for sure faster than your TII."

Me - "OK, I'll be over in 5 to drive this thing."

5 minutes later I drove what I call the saddest rotary in the saddest RX-7 ever.

Shook violently at all times, didnt make much power, plus the poor chassis he had it in I only refer to as an RX-7 so people know what it used to be.
