I have to write a compare and contrast essay on george orwells " animal farm " and " 1984 ". I was just wondering if any one knows where i can get some background on it. I need 3 ideas for comparison and 3 for contrast. I have limited time ( as in not enough time to read "1984" )

Funny, I'm having to read the last half of 1984 before tomorrow's test. I read Animal Farm for kicks last year. 3 comparisons? Well, both of the "governments" in the stories are almost purely communist or communist like. They both have political figure heads who are 'all powerful.' And both governments create lies to make the aforementioned figurehead seem more powerful and almost omniscient through editing of past documents.

 

animal farm is almost straight up russian revolution and purely based off russia. hence whilst 1984 was other **** that was gay becuase the people in it were ***** *** rx7clubbers.

The government in animal farm was nearly identical to a Totalitarion government, not communism. The figure heads and others lived better than others, that is not a prodcut of communism. The pig's decisions stood without question, that's straigh totalitarian right there.
