Dunno if you guys have ran across this, but if you notice on ebay there are auction where the item costs like $1.00 and the shipping is like $50. At first I thought, why would ebay allow this since it ***** them on the fees, however since ebay owns paypal and they have the buyer protection, the reason becomes quite clear. 1) they get their fees when you use paypal and ebay only offers the protection on paypal, so ebay is almost all paypal based now 2)here's the big one; if you have file a claim with paypal you only get a refund of the item price NOT the shipping. In the case above you would have spent $51 and you would get $1.00 back. Good deal huh? I haven't purchased anything on ebay in quite a while, i've found for the most part you can get the item just as cheap on amazon or buy.com.

Yeah, I wasn't happy when ebay went to an all-Paypal system. They won't allow payment with check or money order anymore. They were supposedly cracking down on excessive shipping charges. I will always check the auction for a statement of shipping charges and would never bid on an item if they were out of line.

I buy all the time on EBAY, but noticed that too... Just gotta be smart about it and pass those guys by.

That's the only way they will stop.

Ebay has been pretty good on cracking down on that lately. Ive seen a few auctions pulled by ebay because the seller was charging too much for shipping, including one I was bidding on(and reported after i got the shipping quote).

Wait it out until someone actually pays for shipping. They are out there.

i wount sell **** on ebay anymore. you get screwed twice with the ebay and paypal fees. your better off selling it cheap locally on craigslist.

and the seller has no protection. the buyer almost always gets there money back through a complaint. even if its not true. they dont protect the seller at all.

It's the way to go and the people usually come pick it up so you don't get screwed...unless that's what you're selling...
