Yeah, about 2 years ago when I was moving into this apartment, I went to NYC to load some **** up on the U-Haul, and when I left the next morning, 3 people in the apartment above me had been killed during the night. THAT was some freaky-*** ****...

Luis and Jen, when I came here, I felt the same way. I was scared to go out and whatever, but the people who we hate the most (cops) keep things pretty safe.
For example, we had 599 homicides this year, last year it was 648, so things are getting better. Plus, the US isn't all it's made out to be by the media. Usually, it's pretty quiet.
In my neighorhood, I used to hear gun shots and people screaming all the time 2-3 years ago, now it's all quiet.
We have about 280M people in the states so it's pretty good what the authorities are doing.
Oh and one more thing, New York is much safer then Chicago, they had 1 less homicide then us this year, but their population is three times bigger then ours.
