the interview went well, but the job involves too many pumps and wellhead crap. it bores me, and all the guys there were boring country fellas.

i want a fun job, like with car or something. i dont even care if it's mechanical engineering any more.

That is the way I am going to look at my future career. I think I might minor in Business and see where that leads. Having a technical backround might help in other fields, and ME is the broadest engineering field to begin with. Besides, college is not really about acquring knowlege, but proving that you can learn.

this is what i have realized. just because i have an engineering degree, doesn't mean i have to be an engineer. i just proved i can be smart, i just dont have to be. ag science / sociology / business majors never have much expected from them, just a job. but as an engineering, people think you waste you major by not engineering stuff. whatever i major in, i pay the same amount for college. it's a peice of paper that will get me a job.

i could only see myself engineering cars, and those jobs are few and far between. i might try for a job at sewell automotive. the pay ranges from $65K to $100K. i could sell cars, i just designed one this semester...

If you can only see yourself designing cars as a paid engineer, then yeah, it will take some luck to land yourself on a design team for one of the auto makers.

What program did you use to design the car? And what type of cad software do you prefer. If you are willing there are a lot of job openings for Electrical Engineers right now, civil too I think. I want to work on cars as well that's why I'm Aerospace.
