so what does that do performance wise

 

Nothing performance wise, but it can prevent your engine from overheating if you've removed your air pump.



The air pump belt winds around the water pump and makes sure it spins. By removing it you're leaving just a small amount of alternator belt turning the water pump. The dual belt alternator pulley available direct from banzaitoyota or through my site (same part) lets you add a belt so there's a far, far less chance of slippage and engine overheating.

not to mention it looks alot better than a open spot for a belt.
