I had something similar happen 4 years ago. I had a 99 Prelude Type SH pretty done up and was running down the Interstate in pretty heavy traffic doing about 5 Mph over the speed limit. This clown in a ford contour pulled RIGHT onto my *** so I got back into the right hand lane. Instead of passing me, he proceed to ride so close I couldn't see his headlights (doing 70Mph) and barely his hood. I nailed it up to 90 to get him off my ***, and 2 seconds later he is back on my bumper, but he didn't pass me in the left hand lane even though he had room. (this was a 4 lane area) I hit it again up to 100 Mph and he matches. Within seconds he puts a red light on his dash out of nowhere and proceeds to pull me over, in his plain clothes none the less. He says 'You were speeding back there'. I was like 'No kidding? I don't like when people tailgate me so close I can't see their lights'. Anyway, he gave me a ticket for going 30 Mph over. What a dick. If he hadn't tailgated me and passed me it would have never happen.
I went to court about 90 days later to fight it and I lost the case because the judge said 'him tailgaiting me is no excuse for speeding'...
