ok.

So i have been sitting around the past week or so and been think about the 7 i wanted to get. Since the start it was always an fd. However now I'm really considering a FC, particularly the T2.

Now you may ask why and such. Well i figure this i'll be getting about $13-14k for my truck (got $500 deposit, guy never returned, $500 in my pocket woo) and with that I can either spend like $10-12k for a decent FD and have a couple mods put on, mostly just reliability stuff so no giant power increase

OR

I can get a nice looking T2(89+) and put about $8-9k worth of mods onto it, potentially making it into a monster.

OR

I can try to find a cheap T2(89+), or a T2 shell (with trans and diff, unless i find the trans and diff seperate for cheap), and start work on a 20b swap with the money i have left over. I'd be doing all the installation and such myself and I'm relatively good at part hunting, and this board is a great resource for such things.

-----------------------------------

those are basically the options I've given myself. My main goal is to have a street legal drag car basically that can also handle the road nicely (i was feeling autox and such but now im sorta into drag racing more again).

also anyone got the going rate for an s5 t2?

So opinions please, help me make a choice!

the mild fd or fc wuld be the easy way.

FrestyleFC3S 06-03-2003 02:14 PM

whats this word "easy" mean?

gazellis 06-03-2003 02:14 PM

Well, it seems to me that if you are getting into the drag racing scene more and more than you should go with the fc and turn it into a monster like you said. You said that you would not be increasing the power of the fd much so what good is that in the drag racing scene. If you have the money to turn the fc into a monster that will satisfy everything that you seem to want.

Just my $.02

Apparently S4 = the Gremlin of the RX-7 world.

vosko 06-03-2003 02:23 PM

it all depends.... a FC if you put money into you won't get it back but a FD if modded nicely can get back the money you spent on it....

limit? depends on things it comes with, how it looks, how it runs, interior condition.

if everything is how i want it probably $5k, maybe more.

If you drive an FC, you drive with class!

1988RedT2 06-03-2003 03:40 PM

RUST? Ain't no rust on any of my late 80's Mazdas.

UniqueTII 06-03-2003 03:52 PM

Well, if you lived up north...all of my Mazdas were/are rusty.

Turbo II 06-03-2003 03:55 PM

i want a s5 TII, but they are running still a little too steep for me at this moment in my life. id like to go s5 TII with a large single turbo. we can dream cant we?

MazdaEnthused 06-03-2003 04:17 PM

well i own a 87 T2 and i can't wait to drop a couple of "stacks" into it as soon as i get a consistant paying job

75 Repu 06-03-2003 04:22 PM

People love my vert.. I get lots of looks, but I guess its just cuz most sevens in the southland have a bad rep so when people see one in good shape they like it.. The only thing better is a third gen..

MazdaEnthused 06-03-2003 04:24 PM

3rd gens are bad ass as hell

turbo II: if i get an s5 t2 you can expect the biggest single turbo i can find to be put on it, when i said monster i meant MONSTER. plus having a shop at school and shop basically in my garage it saves tons on labor fees, my labor payment is some sammiches and soda https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

vosko: if i get the fc or fd i wouldnt worry about resale price because i plan on keeping whichever one for a looooooooong ass time, eventually it would just be a track ***** https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.

well after a full day at work i can definitely say im really into getting an s5 t2 now. we'll see what i can workout!

also i got a $500 deposit on my durango, guy has disappeared so i made $500 easily https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png.
