I wanted to do something with the ugly ass fan shroud, I was going to paint it, then have a new one made out of aluminum etc., really couldn't make up my mind.

In addition my dad has gotten hooked on the project and took the fan shroud away from me (you would have to know my dad, I guess, to understand the meaning on that)

Well, he dropped it off at the house today, and I have to say i'm pleased with the results...

He was thrilled at the "original" idea he came up with! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

He had the body man polish the shroud to death, then spent a couple of hours coming up with a design to make in decals at the sign shop.

I didn't have the heart to tell him it wasn't a new decal, I let him bask in his inginuity, and thanked him for the gift.

why not just scrap the shroud? I thought I heard that it didn't do much for cooling anyway...

Actually it does help out a ton in stop and go traffic, that is where the belly pan and shroud do the most good.

Initially I was after the looks thing too, but even in the n/a form i'm not willing to compromise on performance, even in stop and go to get to places where the car performs the best.

yeah. there won't be much a performance difference between electric and clutch fan, but it is extra money that could be spent on performance oriented stuff....

Not to bust balls here, but I don't care for the "fan caution fan" The no piston symbol is cool, though I wouldn't of picked the fan shroud to put it on. Your engine bay is too nice and clean to have stickers in it!

Dramons just mad because I never returned his call about welding some manifold for him. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif He's back on my good side though because he returned my laptop cable finally, giving me hours of games to play at work.

hey 89 whats the deal with your intake? did you do the piping custom?

Yeah, it really not for everyone, but it was a gift from my dad so I can't really scrap it, besides it's better than stickers on the outside, well just the nopistons one anyway.

Yes, it's custom, I hacked up a 97 acura intake pipe and used some marine exhaust tube and some T-bolt clamps to make something that looked and functioned better than stock.

Shane.Trammell 09-12-2005 02:38 PM

im looking at options for an intake on my fb. i got inspired after installing a cai intake on a friends dads crown vic. its a k&n intake, just a hard plastic pipe into a huge cone filter, and it gives 11hp at the wheels.

89 Rag 09-12-2005 04:47 PM

Just run an extension off the horn of the stock intake, to get colder air maybe?
