Is there such a thing at the dealership you frequent? Usually how much of a % off is a Jobber Rate? 20%?

 

we have a couple pricing levels, we dont say jobber though, i think thats like a pop/coke/soda thing....



retail: picture a viking pillage, this is where belts are like $30...



mazda list price: this is the suggested list by mazda, this is where a hose is like $25, and a rotor housing is like $825...



wholesale: they get a discount from retail, usually 20%



so if you graphed it all out we make more % on less expensive stuff, and as the price of the part goes up we loose profit %, when people buy rotor housings they pay more like 10% more than cost.

 

to get 20% here, you have to be a shop, otherwise know someone personally, if you occasionally buy parts maybe 10-15% at most(but you have to get to know your counterman)
