Ok so this is a two fold bitch.

First, rather then record Heroes, I like to wait a day and watch it on the xbox from netflix in HD without commercials. don't ask me how the hell i got watching this show as this is not my normal style show, actually we dont watch many weekly's at all at this point, but i started watching it on netflix and damn i am going to see it through. So it has the first 19 episodes on netflix streaming, get to the 20th and they are no longer on there, for the last 6 episodes you have to rent the DVD when it comes out. SOOO, having missed an episode i had to buy the episode off of xbox live for $2.00 or whatever the hell the rediculous microsoft points work out to be.

Onto the next beef, I have about 15 movies on my list, they are week after week sending me the movies at the bottom of my list. I am sure it will get worse since blockbuster is in financial trouble.

1st beef: hah, they got you! That's good marketing.

2nd beef: Where's the beef? The fact that they're sending you movies from the bottom of your list? That's weird.

Our instant watch list is a whole bunch of kids movies, since Torin went crazy picking out movies on the website.

You all are unwitting slaves to technology and marketing!

So, are they still selling VCR's, or did they go the way of the 8-track player?

You sign up, log onto their website, make a list of movies you want to see. They send you the first of your list (I signed up for the 2-at-time, so I get 2 DVDs). They charge you monthly. You can send back a movie the next day, or hold it for however long you like. The DVD comes with a pre-paid postage envelope, so when you're ready you just pop it in the mail box. You get the next movie(s) on your list a day or two later. Their service is great. If a disc is scratched (I think I've had that happen twice so far, out of maybe 100 DVDs), you log on, put a note in that it was scratched, and send it back. They'll send you a working copy in a day or two.

When I signed up for the 2-DVD package, they introduced a new thing where you can watch a certain selection of movies on their website, no limit, no additional cost. Then they paired up with XBox Live, so if you have a live account, you can watch the "instant stream" movies on your xbox. Not all movies are on the instant stream list, but they are adding more and more all the time. If you picked a movie you want to see, and it's available on instant stream, they'll automatically add it to your available instant stream movies (which you'll see in a list on your XBL). Or you can browse movies specifically for instant stream, or specifically for DVD to arrive in the mail. As phins pointed out, they also have TV series you can watch, and mini series, all sorts of stuff (I watched the Band of Brothers series on Netflix DVDS, so awesome).

The only thing I don't like, is you can't browse the movie library on XBL, you only see the movies on your instant stream list, movies that you've already chosen. So you have to login to their website from your computer, add a movie to your list, then it'll immediately pop up on your XBL instant stream list.

I'm sure I could have explained that in fewer words, but there ya go.

Sweet! sounds pretty good.. and it might work for me.. would suck if i get hooked on a show and they remove it from the list like they did to the Captain.
