The Corolla is a top-notch daily driver. You won't regret buying it.

what about slightly used? there are some decent cars otu there...focus, colbat, scion is a decent car and quicker than the others..but they start at 16 or 17k. focus is a good car..no matter what people say..its much better than it was in the beginning. ****..you could get a svt focus for like 10-15k with low miles. stay away from sentras..those cars are horrible, my spec v grinded 2nd gear with just 8k miles..and i never grinded any shifts. you could get a used srt4 with low miles for 15k.

how mucha re you looking to spend a month? for how many months and are you trading in your current car?

If you look at reliability toyota and honda are both up there. The Cameray (sp) is kinda pricy for what you get - a civic is a good deal they last and hold there value, but now if you are looking in that range have you looked at the mazda 3 I believe they are 13-14K starting with good gas mileage and high quality with killer resale. I had a protege 5 for 18 months (bought new) and had to sell it due to our move to Florida - amazingly on trade in at the dealership I purchased it at we didn't lose money we broke even which is pretty amazing for having it 18 months and no down - just regular monthly payments on a loan.

For the 14k price range your pretty solid if you pick a good runner like civic, focus (they have made improvements and have pretty solid car), mazda3... etc. The toyota's can be pretty proud of themselves so they seem to charge a little more for exactly the same car - but they are good to.

[quote name='FDRacing' date='Apr 15 2005, 05:35 PM']Any thoughts on a civic? Left alone, not some ricer civic. I realistically can spend upwards of 15, just started looking ~ 10k.

Get an EG body civic! They rock.

EDIT: Also, IIRC from an old video game (n64 maybe?) they do lotsa flips when you jump them, so you get mad style points, yo.
